Pre-operation Inspection: Before trial operation, manually rotate the coupling or shaft to check if the rotation direction is correct and if the operation is flexible. If it cannot be rotated or there are abnormal noises, check immediately. First, manually check if the coupling is level from the outside. Check the lubricating oil level near the center line of the oil sight glass on the bearing housing (if too much, drain some; if too little, add some). Rotate the coupling while checking. If the problem persists, disassemble the pump for inspection (refer to the structural diagram and disassembly procedure in the instruction manual). Clean out any foreign objects and contact the manufacturer to discuss solutions.
Start-up Procedure:
(1) Fill the pump with liquid;
(2) Open the inlet valve immediately (if the inlet valve is a one-way check valve, manual operation is not required);
(3) Connect the power supply;
(4) Open the outlet valve.
Operation:
If abnormal noises or motor overheating occur during operation, stop the machine for inspection. The inspection method and steps are the same as in 1. 4. Shutdown
(1) First, close the outlet valve.
(2) Disconnect the power supply and promptly close the inlet valve; (If the inlet valve is a one-way check valve, manual operation is not required).
Maintenance
(1) The lubricating oil in the bearing housing should be changed regularly, normally every six months.
(2) In cold seasons, if ice forms after the pump is stopped, first connect the cooling water to the seal. If necessary, add hot water to thaw it. Then, manually rotate the coupling until it runs smoothly before starting the pump according to the startup procedure.
(3) For pumps with cooling water devices, the cooling water should be connected before starting the pump. It can continue to be connected during normal pump operation, or it can be stopped if conditions do not permit. There are no requirements for the flow rate or pressure of the cooling water; tap water is sufficient.
(4) The operation of the pump when the outlet valve is closed is called closed-pressure operation. The closed-pressure operation time for all-plastic or lined pumps should be minimized as much as possible. For normal temperature media, it should not exceed 5 minutes, and for high temperature media, it should preferably not exceed 2 minutes.
(5) For pumps with split casings, such as pumps with an inlet diameter of 150mm or more, the sealing plastic at the split surface may change in size due to thermal expansion and contraction. During installation, the connecting bolts at the split surface should be tightened first, and then the inlet pipe should be connected to prevent leakage at the split surface. This is especially important for users in northern regions.
(6) The pump cannot bear the weight of the inlet and outlet pipes. The inlet pipe should be as short as possible, and the vertical distance from the pump outlet to the valve should be as short as possible.
(7) Keep the motor free of water to prevent it from getting damp.
