Introduction To Shotcrete Machines

A shotcrete machine is a mechanical device that directly sprays concrete mixture onto the surface of a building or structure, reinforcing the surface or forming a new structure.

The shotcrete machine is the core equipment in shotcrete construction. It is used in conjunction with other equipment such as robotic arms, air compressors, water supply systems, batching and mixing/feeding devices, and accelerator additives. Different combinations of these devices can achieve various process flows. They can also be assembled into a single unit, integrating material storage, mixing, and spraying, thereby increasing the mechanization of the entire shotcrete construction process.

Since its application in underground development projects in the 1950s, shotcrete technology has been widely adopted in many countries for underground and surface concrete projects in industries such as construction, municipal engineering, railways, and mining due to its advantages of high mechanization, simple processes, and high production efficiency, demonstrating significant technical and economic benefits. Compared with conventional concrete pouring, this process is 1 to 3 times faster, saves 40% to 50% of raw materials, produces higher quality work, reduces costs by more than 30%, and saves 60% of labor. Currently, shotcrete and anchor support technology has become an important support method in underground construction projects, especially providing a relatively advanced means for underground and surface concrete projects of various shapes, and fully demonstrating its advantages.
