Intelligent Upgrade
New inspection robots are now equipped with AI recognition systems, automatically marking pipeline defect types and generating 3D models, increasing inspection efficiency by 3 times. Some equipment is now remotely controlled via 5G, reducing the risks of downhole operations.
Material Innovation
The application of nano-modified resin materials has shortened curing time to 1-2 hours and increased compressive strength to over 50 MPa. Biodegradable temporary lining materials are also in the experimental stage, and are expected to reduce construction waste by 30% in the future.
Modular Design
Recently emerging containerized integrated equipment integrates cleaning, inspection, and repair functions, shortening transfer time to 4 hours, suitable for rapid response in small and medium-sized projects.
It should be noted that equipment selection must comprehensively consider pipeline conditions, budget, and construction period. For example, the initial equipment investment for the PE pipe insertion method is approximately RMB 200,000-300,000, suitable for long-distance repairs; while the unit price of the point repair machine is RMB 80,000-150,000, more suitable for local emergency repairs. The construction party should accurately assess the degree of damage through the pipeline CCTV inspection report and then match the appropriate process. With accelerating urbanization, trenchless technology will play a more important role in underground pipeline maintenance. Equipment manufacturers are working to improve energy efficiency (such as replacing diesel power with electro-hydraulic systems) and ease of operation, and in the future, more miniaturized equipment suitable for working in confined spaces may emerge.
